Little Twister was born the morning a powerful tornedo moved through Waco in the middle of the night. Twister was Lulu's first foal, and at first, she wasn't so sure about the nursing issue! She is now a devoted mother, with highly protective instincts.

We love observing disposition in our donkeys. We can predict with a high degree of certainty which foals will tend to be trusting and curious from birth just based on who the mother is. At this stage, Twister spends more time by the side of his mom because she tends to be overly protective. As a foal, Lulu was exactly the same way with her mother. Before Twister was born, Lulu would follow us around the field, and I expect that as Twister matures, she will resume her laid-back attitude.
